There is a traditional festival called Dan brganje (The day of Brgnja), dedicated to a shell called brgnja which lives only in the sea around Betina (3rd August). The marina Betina has 200 berths in the sea and 80 spots on the land.

Betina is a village and port situated on the north-eastern coast of the island of Murter, at the north-eastern entrance of the Murter Channel. The economic base is represented by agriculture, wine-growing, olive-growing, fishing and tourism. The port faces a risk of   north-eastern and southern winds (bura and jugo-sirocco). Along the break-water only boats up to 1.3 m draught can put in. In the Zdrače bay there is a marina Betina. The Betina shipyard is placed on the regional road which passes through Murter.

Betina was first mentioned in the 16th ct, when it was founded by the runaways from Turks. The parish St. Frane`s church was built at the beginning of the 17th ct and it was expanded several times later. In the middle of the 18th ct a bell-tower was raised next to the church.
